Questions
I get asked.

Everything you need to know before getting started. If something's not covered here, just reach out.

I require a 50% non-refundable deposit before starting, with the remaining 50% due before the site is deployed. Payments are accepted via Interac e-Transfer to hello@promptandpixel.ca or by card via Stripe — Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple Pay, and Google Pay are all accepted. The deposit is strictly non-refundable as it covers scheduling and initial project work. For larger projects, I can arrange milestone-based payments.

It depends on the scope. A single-page Rapid Launch site can be ready in under a week. Multi-page Growth Builds typically take 2–3 weeks. Custom projects vary — I'll give you a clear timeline before I start.

Yes. Once your project is fully paid, you own all the custom code and design. Hosting is managed by me as part of the yearly hosting fee — think of it like a managed service so you never have to worry about the technical side. If you already own your domain, you keep full control of it. If I purchased the domain for you, I manage it on your behalf. Either way, you can request a complete handoff at any time and I'll transfer the source code, domain (where applicable), and all relevant accounts to you at no extra charge.

Yes — and I strongly recommend keeping both through me, especially if you are not technical. Your domain is your web address (e.g. yourbusiness.ca). Without one, your site has no address and cannot be found on Google. I handle the purchase and setup, quoted separately at cost — standard domains run ~$15–30/year. Hosting is what keeps your site live on the internet 24/7. It also covers your SSL certificate (the padlock that tells visitors your site is secure), security updates, and uptime monitoring. Without hosting through me, you would need to manage all of that yourself — finding a provider, renewing your SSL, and troubleshooting any downtime. With my hosting plan ($300/year, or ~$25/month in installments), I handle everything. Your site stays fast, secure, and online without you having to think about it. If anything ever needs attention, you have priority support. Skipping hosting does not mean your site disappears — it means the responsibility of keeping it live shifts entirely to you.

Not much. Your logo (if you have one), any brand colours or fonts you like, the content you want on the site (or rough ideas), and a sense of what you want visitors to do. I'll guide you through the rest.

Yes — I offer Website Copywriting as a standalone service (from $150) and as an add-on enhancement. I write headlines, body copy, and calls to action tailored to your business and audience. If you'd prefer to write your own content, I'll refine and shape what you provide.

Absolutely. I share live preview links throughout the build so you can see your site come together in real time. Feedback is welcome at every stage.

Every package includes a set number of revision rounds during the build. After launch, I offer monthly maintenance plans ($75/mo) for ongoing tweaks and updates — up to 4 content changes per month. Monthly maintenance fees are non-refundable once the billing cycle begins. One-off changes outside a maintenance plan are billed at $95/hour in 30-minute increments.

I build with modern web technologies — primarily Next.js and React — hosted on fast, reliable infrastructure. No WordPress, no Wix, no page builders. Just clean, fast, production-ready code.

Every site I build follows SEO best practices out of the box — fast load times, proper meta tags, semantic HTML, and mobile-first design. While no one can guarantee rankings, I give your site the strongest possible foundation for search visibility. For more in-depth SEO work, I offer it as an enhancement.
